Description
The Danish Government Scholarships under the Cultural Agreements are aimed at highly qualified exchange students wishing to immerse themselves in studies of the Danish language and culture or other fields of study related to Denmark.
Eligibility
The Long- Term Danish Government Scholarships are open to students enrolled in full-degree studies at higher education institutions in China, Japan, Israel, Egypt and Russia. Scholarships are only available to master’s and PhD-level students. However, bachelor’s degree students wishing to study Danish language and literature can also apply if they have studied the Danish language for two years. PhD students must likewise be employed at, or affiliated with, higher education institutions in the above-mentioned countries.
Scholarship
Scholarships include free tuition and a monthly stipend of DKK 6,500 (€870) intended to cover travel, visa, accomodation, food, and other living expenses.
Application
Applicants must apply through, and be nominated by, their own national authorities. In order to come into consideration for a scholarship, applicants must have arranged an appropriate study programme. Applications should include a detailed description of the intended project of studies/research in Denmark.
Applications must be submitted in two ways:
- Application forms and supporting documentation should be signed and sent in two copies, clearly labelled ”ORIGINAL” and ”COPY” to the authorities in your home country. Please contact your national authorities for information about their internal deadlines for the scholarship. Your national authorities must then submit the applications of their nominees for a scholarship to the Danish Agency for Higher Education by regular mail.
- Applicants must also submit their applications by e-mail to: kulturaftaler@uds.dk. In the e-mail’s subject field, write your home country followed by your full name. A scanned version of your original application (with signatures) and supporting documentation should be attached to the e-mail as PDF files.
Application forms must be completed electronically and in English and all enclosures must be translated into English and certified.
The deadline for the 2015/16 long-term scholarships is 1 March, 2015.
