Description

The Center for Quantum Devices and Station Q Copenhagen is looking to hire one or more PhD students to work on experimental implementation of majorana fusion rules and braiding of Majorana fermions.

Research involves nanofabrication, low-temperature physics using a cryofree dilution refrigerator, rf signal generation and detection, rf electronics in general, programming, data analysis, interaction with theoretical physicists, and aptitude for scientific writing in English. The Center for Quantum Devices is a Center of Excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation. Station Q Copenhagen is funded by Microsoft Research.


Job description
Your key tasks as a PhD student at Science are:

To manage and carry through your research project;
Attend PhD courses;
Write scientific articles and your PhD thesis;
Teach and disseminate your research;
Work for the department.
Eligibility

Applicants should have a background in Physics with either a Masters degree (for the regular PhD program), one year of Masters-level coursework (for the 4+4 PhD program), or an undergraduate degree in Physics from a US university (for the 3+5 PhD program);
As criteria for the assessment of your qualifications emphasis will also be laid on previous publications (if any) and relevant work experience.
Fellowship

The starting salary is currently at a minimum DKK 306,667 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 42,361). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
